According to the Seo District Council on April 30, this support was planned to help residents who have been severely affected by the wildfire quickly regain stability in their daily lives.
The relief supplies, worth approximately 3 million won, were made possible by reducing the budget for the 34th anniversary celebration. Sixty boxes containing easily prepared foods such as beef bone soup (Gomtang), seaweed soup (Miyeokguk), and spicy beef soup (Yukgaejang) were prepared to provide practical assistance to local residents.
Chairperson Jeon Seungil stated, "Although this is a small gesture, we prepared it with the hope that it will give strength to those affected, as we share in their pain and stand in solidarity in the face of a national disaster. I hope this donation brings comfort to our neighbors and leads to a wider culture of sharing in our society."
Meanwhile, the Gwangju Seo District Council has consistently engaged in relief activities in solidarity with communities across the country whenever disasters or calamities occur.
