Yangju City to Host 5th Youth Dance Festival 'Groove on'

Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on April 30 that it will host the 5th Yangju Youth Dance Festival 'Groove on' at the main stage of Deokgye Neighborhood Park on June 21.

The event is organized by the Yangju branch of the Federation of Artistic and Cultural Organizations of Korea (hereafter referred to as Yangju Arts Federation) and aims to encourage healthy leisure activities among youth in northern Gyeonggi and provide a platform for artistic expression.


Eligibility is open to youth residing in Yangju, Dongducheon, Pocheon, and Uijeongbu, who may participate either individually or as a team.


To apply, participants must download the application form from the Yangju Arts Federation website between May 19 and June 8, complete it, and submit it along with an MP4 video file (within 3 minutes) via email.


Through a screening process, approximately 12 teams will be selected to advance to the finals, with the list of finalists to be announced on June 11.


The finals will take place at the festival venue on June 21, and the awards ceremony will also be held on the same day.


The total prize money amounts to 3.5 million won, with 1.5 million won awarded to the Gold Prize (1 team), 1 million won to the Silver Prize (1 team), 500,000 won to the Bronze Prize (1 team), 300,000 won to the Encouragement Prize (1 team), and 200,000 won to the Popularity Prize (1 team).


A Yangju City official stated, "This will be a stage where young people can fully express their passion and talent," adding, "We look forward to the challenges and participation of many youths."
