"To Prevent Defect Controversies" Yongin City Directly Oversees Quality of Upcoming Apartments

Quality Inspection Team Conducts Check on "Sujigu Office Station Lotte Castle HiveL"
Mayor Lee Sangil: "Strengthening Quality Management at Every Stage of Apartment Construction"

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province has taken the initiative to directly inspect the quality of apartment complexes scheduled for move-in. This move is interpreted as an effort to strengthen its role as a mediator between construction companies and future residents, following recent controversy over defects at Apartment A in Yangji-myeon, Cheoin-gu.

"To Prevent Defect Controversies" Yongin City Directly Oversees Quality of Upcoming Apartments Yisangil, mayor of Yongin, is inspecting the construction status of the underground parking lot at "Sujigu Office Station Lotte Castle HiveL" in Bojeong-dong, Giheung-gu, scheduled for move-in in June, together with the "Yongin City Quality Inspection Team" composed of experts on the 29th. On the 29th, Yongin City announced that it had conducted a quality inspection of "Sujigu Office Station Lotte Castle HiveL" at 266-4 Bojeong-dong, Giheung-gu. This complex consists of four buildings with 715 households, ranging from three basement levels to 36 above-ground floors, and is scheduled for move-in in June.

Mayor Lee Sangil personally participated in the quality inspection that day. Together with the "Yongin City Quality Inspection Team," which is composed of three architects from the Yongin City Association of Architects and six on-site technicians from local apartment construction sites, Mayor Lee attended a preliminary briefing by the construction company at the site office and inspected the construction status of sample units, community facilities, the underground parking lot, and external common areas.

Mayor Lee emphasized, "Since many citizens live in apartment complexes, it is important to detect and address even minor defects in advance," and added, "I ask that you pay close attention until the very end so that future residents can move in comfortably and with satisfaction." Mayor Lee further stated, "The city will continue to strengthen quality management at every stage of apartment construction and implement measures to prevent defects from occurring in advance."

The city plans to require that any issues identified during this inspection be addressed before the use inspection, and will conduct thorough follow-up management procedures to ensure that the construction company provides proof of completion for all corrective actions. The construction company has already addressed most of the requests raised by future residents and plans to implement additional measures going forward.
