Participation in the 23rd World Korean Business Convention
MOU Signed with the Korean American Chamber of Commerce in Georgia
Kang Sinhong, Chairman of Andong Hospital under Andong Medical Foundation, participated in the 23rd World Korean Business Convention held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, where he carried out local promotional marketing activities.
During the event, approximately 500 local residents and guests visited the Andong Hospital booth, demonstrating strong interest in the health tour program.
The event was held over four days from April 17 to April 20, and Andong Hospital focused on promoting its health tour program, which combines high-quality health checkups with accommodation, meals, and tourism.
In particular, Andong Hospital's health tour is recognized as a differentiated service that integrates medical care and tourism by offering 90 types of health checkups in conjunction with Andong's tourism resources, which include numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Lee Kyungchul, President of the Korean American Chamber of Commerce, stated, "Andong Hospital's health tour package is a highly competitive product that combines medical care and tourism," adding, "It can be very appealing to overseas Koreans in the United States."
Kang Moonseon, President of the Houston Korean American Chamber of Commerce, who personally experienced the health tour last year, also shared, "The concierge team's attentive service and the night view of Wolyeonggyo Bridge were unforgettable experiences," and expressed hope that more Koreans would have the opportunity to experience Korean medical services.
During the event, Andong Hospital signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Atlanta Georgia Korean American Chamber of Commerce.
The agreement includes: providing remote and phone-based medical consultation systems; offering convenience for referred patients; and cooperating as a designated hospital when Andong Hospital enters the U.S. market.
Key figures such as Lee Sangdeok, Director of the Overseas Koreans Agency; Seo Sangpyo, Consul General in Atlanta; Kim Youngki, President of the Federation of Korean Associations in Europe; and Lee Jenny, President of the Chicago Korean American Chamber of Commerce, visited the Andong Hospital booth. At this occasion, discussions were also held on cooperation related to the Korean festival to be held in Chicago in August.
Additionally, during the event, Andong Hospital visited relevant organizations in Atlanta, such as Korean travel agencies and churches, to directly promote its medical tourism products.
Chairman Kang Sinhong stated, "We will provide high-quality medical services centered on our premium health checkup center, which was expanded and reopened last year, supported by a dedicated concierge team, an in-hospital guesthouse, and a post-care system," adding, "Through the health tour, we aim to contribute to revitalizing the local economy of Andong and increasing the resident population."
Meanwhile, in 2023, Andong Hospital established a local corporation (TNEC) in California, USA, to secure a foothold in the U.S. and promote the expansion of medical tourism.
