In anticipation of Family Month in May, the city of Gwangju conducted a focused inspection of safety management for playground equipment and electrical facilities at Gwangju Family Land in Uchi Park on the 28th.
This inspection was carried out as part of the "2025 Intensive Safety Inspection." Deputy Mayor Kwangwan Ko, along with relevant departments, private experts, and facility management personnel, jointly inspected the main facilities of the amusement park, a multi-use facility.
The inspection covered the following areas: ▲ any structural abnormalities in amusement rides, ▲ operational status of safety equipment such as electrical and fire systems, ▲ emergency evacuation systems, and ▲ adherence to safety regulations by on-site staff. In particular, as the number of visitors is expected to increase significantly during Family Month in May, the inspection focused on ensuring the safety of children and family visitors.
Deputy Mayor Kwangwan Ko stated, "The more frequently children and citizens visit a place, the more thorough the safety management must be," adding, "Taking this inspection as an opportunity, we will continue to make efforts for ongoing management and improvement so that all citizens can use the facilities with peace of mind."
