Magic Shows, Bubble Shows, and Busking Performances
at Seomjingang Train Village from May 4 to 6
Gokseong County, South Jeolla Province, announced on April 28 that a special event themed 'Train Village Great Adventure! Hi Fun Balloon Festival' will be held at Seomjingang Train Village for three days from May 4 to 6, in celebration of the Children's Day golden holiday.
Seomjingang Train Village, decorated with vibrant balloon displays, will be transformed into a fairytale-like world, promising unforgettable memories for children. The colorful balloon decorations and character-shaped balloon sculptures are designed to spark children's imagination and provide excitement and joy.
For all three days of the event, busking performances featuring magic shows, bubble shows, and balloon art will take place in front of the main stage. The highlight is a variety of performances on the main stage on May 5, Children's Day. At 4:00 p.m., the 'Disney Character OST Concert' will offer a vivid experience of Disney's famous songs. From 'Under the Sea' from The Little Mermaid to 'Let It Go' from Frozen, these Disney classics are expected to evoke nostalgia not only for children but also for their parents.
Additionally, the Andersen classic fairy tale musical 'The Emperor's New Clothes' will be performed. This show, presented by a professional children's theater troupe, features elaborate costumes and sets, along with cheerful songs and dances, offering both lessons and fun for children. The classic fairy tale musical will be held twice daily, at 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Other programs include 'Illusion Magic,' 'Vista & Ssagoon's Popular Children's Content Performance,' and 'Random Play Dance,' where children can participate directly.
For three days, seven different hands-on activities will be available at the lawn plaza next to the main stage, including a 'Mobile Observatory,' 'Pet Bird Experience,' 'Water Balloon Mini Squid Game,' and 'Children's Woodcraft.' Among these, the 'Pet Bird Experience' stands out. Children will have the opportunity to interact with five breeds of pet parrots under the guidance of a professional trainer, safely placing the birds on their hands and feeding them. The 'Children's Woodcraft Experience' provides a special opportunity for children to create their own finished works. With the guidance of a professional woodworking instructor and the use of safe tools, children can make a variety of items of their choice.
Participatory events are also planned. The 'Popular Character Parade' will feature not only Gokseong Train Village's mascots, Hongi and Cheongi, but also actors dressed as various beloved characters, who will march, greet children, and take photos together. There will also be an 'SNS Certification Photo' event and a 'Treasure Hunt' event. Visitors can take photos at designated spots around the Train Village and upload them to social media, and those who find hidden treasures throughout the venue will receive commemorative gifts.
An official from the county stated, "We have transformed Seomjingang Train Village into a balloon-filled wonderland and prepared a variety of programs to create unforgettable memories for children. In addition to the Children's Day event, there are various facilities such as the Rose Park, Dreamland amusement park, steam locomotive, mini train, and 4D theater, ensuring wonderful memories for the whole family."
Meanwhile, Gokseong Seomjingang Train Village is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Admission is 4,500 won for children and 5,000 won for adults. However, on May 5, Children's Day, admission is free for children of elementary school age and younger.
