Booyoung Group Provides One-Year Scholarship to Changshin University Freshmen for Six Consecutive Years

"With Full Support, Emerging as a Leading Small but Strong University in the Region"

Booyoung Group announced on April 28 that it has been supporting the development of local talent by providing a full one-year scholarship (50% for the Department of Nursing) to all freshmen at Changshin University in Changwon, Gyeongnam, for six consecutive years.

Booyoung Group has participated as a financial contributor to Changshin University since 2019, under the belief of its founder and chairman, Lee Joonggeun, that "education is a project for a hundred years." Since then, the group has implemented initiatives such as a full one-year scholarship for freshmen, restructuring of departments to align with industry needs, operation of a semester-based practicum and internship program, establishment of admissions support systems, and expansion of practical training facilities.

Booyoung Group stated, "During this period, the university achieved a 100% freshman enrollment rate for four consecutive years," and added, "Thanks to the group's full support, Changshin University has been reborn as a leading small but strong university in the region." In 2023, the university’s average employment rate was 69.2%, surpassing both the national university average (64.6%) and the Gyeongnam regional average (62.53%). Among four-year private universities in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region, it recorded the highest job retention rate in 2022 at 82.1%.

As of the first half of last year, 71 students participated in the practicum and internship program (Booyoung Track), and 18 of them were hired by group affiliates. The Booyoung Track is a practicum and internship system linked to Booyoung Group's leisure businesses, such as Jeju Booyoung Hotel & Resort and Muju Deogyusan Resort.

Recently, Changshin University established the Department of Smart Factory (with majors in Industrial Safety and Smart Factory Operation) and the Department of Physical Therapy in response to industrial accidents and the aging society.

Booyoung Group continues its social contribution activities both domestically and internationally. Its cumulative donations exceed 1.2 trillion won. Separately, Chairman Lee Joonggeun’s personal donations amount to 266 billion won.
