Dassai is a brand produced by Asahi Shuzo in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. Unlike other breweries that adhere to traditional brewing methods, Dassai incorporates IT technology to modernize its facilities and control the brewing process. Based on over ten years of accumulated brewing data, the brand precisely manages factors such as temperature, moisture absorption rate, and fermentation process to create sake with a unique flavor and a clear, refined taste.
After first launching at Shinsegae Duty Free's Incheon Airport Terminal 2 store in June last year, Dassai has expanded its sales channels to the online mall in response to strong customer demand.
With this addition, Shinsegae Duty Free has introduced Dassai's signature products to its online mall. The flagship product is "Dassai 23," known as the "King of Sake." This top-tier Junmai Daiginjo sake is made exclusively from Yamada Nishiki rice polished down to a 23% milling ratio.
In addition, "Dassai Shochu," made by distilling sake lees (the leftover residue after filtering sake) from Dassai Junmai Ginjo, which is often referred to as the "textbook of sake," is also being offered. The pinnacle of the Dassai series, "Dassai Beyond," is also available; this product is well-known for having been presented as a gift to former U.S. President Barack Obama.
A representative from Shinsegae Duty Free stated, "Dassai is more than just a traditional alcoholic beverage; it is a global premium brand that combines advanced technology with craftsmanship. Through this launch, we aim to provide a unique liquor experience to both domestic and international customers, and we will continue to expand our diverse collection of fine spirits in the future."
