The Korea Social Value Festa is an event where representatives from various sectors?including the government, businesses, and academia?gather to share their experiences and solutions, and generate new ideas to address a wide range of challenges facing Korean society, such as the climate crisis and low birth rate.

The event was first held last year at the suggestion of Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Chey Tae-won, who proposed creating a platform for communication and collaboration to solve social issues. According to the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this year's event is expected to see a 1.5-fold increase in the number of participating organizations and visitors compared to last year. In 2024, more than 240 organizations and over 6,000 visitors attended the event.

This year’s event, under the theme “Designing a Sustainable Future,” will feature an even more diverse program. A wide range of programs combining expertise and creativity from various fields will be introduced, with plans to go beyond a simple exhibition and create a platform for practical cooperation to realize social value.

In particular, this year’s Festa will showcase major Korean events related to social issues, such as the Social Enterprise International Forum, hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and organized by the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency. In addition, the Festa’s core programs?including the Leaders’ Summit, expert lectures and discussion sessions, and business networking programs?will be expanded in both scale and quality compared to last year.

There will also be exhibition and promotional booths, a market, and a food and beverage (F&B) zone focused on social value consumption and sustainable living. Various programs that the public can directly participate in and experience will be offered to encourage greater interest and participation in solving social issues.

Cho Youngjun, Head of the Center for Sustainable Management at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated, “This year’s Festa will be further upgraded so that both participating organizations and visitors can achieve meaningful results and experiences as key players in solving social issues. As we have already received a steady stream of inquiries about new and expanded participation from various organizations since the beginning of the year, we expect this event to serve as a catalyst for the Festa to grow into Korea’s leading social value platform.”

The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry is accepting applications for participating organizations and groups for the 2nd Social Value Festa through its website until May 23.
