Applications Now Open for the "Policy Direction for SMEs under the Next Administration Grand Forum"
to Be Held at the Korea Federation of SMEs on May 12

The Korea Federation of SMEs announced on the 27th that it is now accepting applications for attendance at the "Policy Direction for SMEs under the Next Administration Grand Forum."


This forum, which will be held on May 12 at the KBIZ Hall of the Korea Federation of SMEs in Yeouido, serves as the opening event for the 37th SME Week, a statutory event under the Framework Act on Small and Medium Enterprises. The forum will feature a comprehensive discussion among various experts, aimed at diagnosing the current issues facing the Korean economy and presenting policy directions for SMEs under the next administration.


The theme of the forum is "Reigniting Korea's Growth Engine." In the keynote presentation, Choo Moonkap, Head of Economic Policy at the Korea Federation of SMEs, will explain the policy agendas and core tasks jointly identified by the SME sector and academia.

The comprehensive discussion will be chaired by Professor Lee Sangmyung (Business Administration, Hanyang University). Industry representatives include Kang Donghan, Chairman of the Korea Forging Industry Cooperative; Sung Misook, President of the Korea Women Venture Association; and Bae Youngsook, CEO of Pacho. Academic representatives include Oh Dongyun, Professor of Economics at Dong-A University; Koo Inhyuk, Professor of Global Service Studies at Sookmyung Women's University; and Noh Minseon, Research Fellow at the Korea Small Business Institute. Representing the government, Noh Yongseok, Director General for SME Policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, will participate as a designated discussant.


The forum is expected to serve as a foundation for designing SME policies to overcome the challenges of low growth, polarization, and declining innovation that the rapidly growing Korean economy currently faces, through expert analysis and discussion on policy directions for the SME sector.
