Gokseong County, led by Governor Cho Sangrae, announced on April 23 that preparations are in full swing for the agricultural and specialty products sales venue, which is part of the Gokseong World Rose Festival program, ahead of its official opening.
To this end, the county held a meeting the previous afternoon at the Agricultural Technology Center Eoulmadang with 19 participants, including 14 local farmers and organization representatives and 5 administrative officials, to discuss the overall operation of the sales venue.
During the meeting, guidelines and precautions for operating the agricultural and specialty products sales venue were provided, along with explanations regarding the food sanitation law permits and procedures that participating farmers and organizations must strictly follow. In particular, cooperation requirements for running the sales venue and hygiene management measures for safe food sales were outlined. Additionally, the locations of each sales booth were determined by drawing lots, and on-site adjustments were completed immediately, increasing participant satisfaction.
The upcoming agricultural and specialty products sales venue will be operated for 10 days from May 16 to May 25. A total of 21 farms and organizations will participate in this event, showcasing 96 high-quality agricultural and specialty products. The event is expected to be a meaningful occasion that not only increases local farmers' income and expands sales channels but also provides consumers with the opportunity to purchase fresh and reliable agricultural products directly from producers.
During the event, the county will support farmers by providing necessary items such as tables and chairs, and will also conduct promotional events by giving various promotional materials to outside tourists who purchase products worth 20,000 won or more.
A county official stated, "This agricultural and specialty products sales venue will be a safe and convenient direct market that satisfies both farmers and consumers. We hope that participating farmers will strictly comply with the food sanitation law to build trust, and that visitors will not miss the opportunity to purchase high-quality local agricultural products at reasonable prices."
