Retirement Ceremony for Former Chairman Seo Euitek
Dongmyung University will hold the inauguration ceremony for Kang Kyungsoo, the 15th Chairman of the Dongmyung Cultural Foundation, and Lee Sangcheon, the 11th President of Dongmyung University, at 10:30 a.m. on April 24 in the main auditorium of the central library. The event will also include the retirement ceremony for former Chairman Seo Euitek.
In his inaugural address, Chairman Kang Kyungsoo is expected to say, "At a time when change, innovation, and adaptability are urgently required to overcome the complex crises facing the Republic of Korea, such as low birth rates and economic stagnation, as well as the decline in the student population and youth employment shortage in Busan, and the high dropout rate, I feel a profound sense of responsibility and will strive to make this a turning point for a new leap forward for the Dongmyung Cultural Foundation."
In his inaugural speech, President Lee Sangcheon will emphasize, "We will establish a future-oriented educational environment that leads the era of great innovation brought about by the advancement of generative AI, and create a 'student-centered innovative university.'" He will also stress the simultaneous realization of the university's internationalization, student success, and financial soundness through the principles of openness, fairness, impartiality, and public interest ("4 Gong"), as well as through customized student guidance and a close-knit management system.
Considering recent domestic and international circumstances, the event will be held in a simplified manner, mainly with internal members such as board members of the Dongmyung Cultural Foundation, faculty and staff of Dongmyung University and Dongmyung Technical High School, and student representatives. Invitations to external guests and video congratulatory messages will be omitted.
