On the 22nd, the party's election management committee announced the results of the first round of the primary (cut-off), narrowing the candidates from eight to four. Kim Moonsoo, Han Donghun, and Hong Junpyo, who have consistently formed the "top three" in opinion polls, advanced smoothly to the second round. Among Na Kyungwon and Ahn Cheolsoo, who were competing for the remaining spot, Ahn secured a place in the final four. Na Kyungwon, along with Yang Hyangja, Yoo Jungbok, and Lee Cheolwoo, was eliminated. The second round of the primary will be held on April 27-28, with 50% of the results coming from party member votes and 50% from public opinion polls, and the results will be announced on the 29th. If no candidate secures a majority, a runoff between the top two candidates will be held on May 1-2, with both party member votes and public opinion polls, and the final candidate will be confirmed at the party convention on May 3.
