Han Donghun Reveals Appearance on SNL Korea
Kim Moonsoo and Hong Junpyo Also Featured in the Segment

Han Donghun, the presidential primary candidate of the People Power Party, revealed that he appeared on 'SNL Korea.' His appearance on SNL is interpreted as a strategy to increase his public favorability as a presidential candidate. On the 22nd, Han posted a photo on his social media with comedian Jung Sungho. The photo is a scene from the Coupang Play's popular variety show 'SNL Korea 7,' specifically from the segment 'The Branch Manager Goes,' where Han and Jung's striking resemblance drew attention. In this segment, actress Ji Yeeun appears as a convenience store branch manager and interviews job applicants. Han's segment was reportedly filmed on the 21st. After seeing the photo of Han and Jung together, online users responded with anticipation, saying, "Just looking at the photo is funny," "It's already entertaining," and "I can't wait to see it."

Previously, candidates Kim Moonsoo and Hong Junpyo also appeared on SNL. In a video released on the 19th, Kim compared Lee Jae Myung, the Democratic Party's primary candidate, to "aged yogurt." Politicians' appearances on SNL are interpreted as efforts to increase public familiarity and mitigate their weaknesses. In his appearance, Kim parodied his controversial remark as Gyeonggi Governor, "I am the governor." Hong recently created an acrostic poem using the name of Myung Taegyun, who has been the subject of recent allegations. He said, "'Myung' (meaning fame) shook the Republic of Korea. 'Tae' (meaning great) refers to 'Taesanmyeongdongseoilpil' (a Korean idiom meaning a big fuss with little result). 'Gyoon' (meaning bacteria) refers to germs."

Meanwhile, the People Power Party's presidential primary has now become a four-way race among Kim Moonsoo, Ahn Cheolsoo, Han Donghun, and Hong Junpyo (listed in Korean alphabetical order). On the 22nd, the party's election management committee announced the results of the first round of the primary (cut-off), narrowing the candidates from eight to four. Kim Moonsoo, Han Donghun, and Hong Junpyo, who have consistently formed the "top three" in opinion polls, advanced smoothly to the second round. Among Na Kyungwon and Ahn Cheolsoo, who were competing for the remaining spot, Ahn secured a place in the final four. Na Kyungwon, along with Yang Hyangja, Yoo Jungbok, and Lee Cheolwoo, was eliminated. The second round of the primary will be held on April 27-28, with 50% of the results coming from party member votes and 50% from public opinion polls, and the results will be announced on the 29th. If no candidate secures a majority, a runoff between the top two candidates will be held on May 1-2, with both party member votes and public opinion polls, and the final candidate will be confirmed at the party convention on May 3.

He also stated on his social media, "Together with you, I will definitely defeat the Democratic Party and Lee Jae Myung." He continued, "I ask for your utmost support and strength in the path to protect the present and future of the Republic of Korea." He added, "In the face of 'power shifts' where martial law and successive impeachments exchange places, we need someone who can confidently speak of 'generational change.' In the face of the 'fake economy' that distributes money through debt, we need someone who can present a vision for a 'real economy' that ushers in an era of a growing middle class. The only winning choice is me, Han Donghun."
