Innovation in Traffic Safety and Service Expected Through Discovery of Creative Lane Technologies
Korea Expressway Corporation is holding a "National Lane Technology Contest" to drive innovation in highway lane technologies. The contest will run for approximately two months, from April 22 to June 20, and is open to all Korean citizens, whether as individuals or as companies.
The purpose of this contest is to discover and promote creative ideas from highway users and outstanding technologies from domestic lane-related companies.
Korea Expressway Corporation explained that the goal is to provide safe and high-quality transportation services through the advancement of lane technologies.
The contest is divided into two categories: the Completed Technology category and the Idea category.
The Completed Technology category is limited to construction methods for which technology development has been completed, and requires participants to hold a new technology certification, patent, utility model, or design registration (including applications). The Idea category will be judged based on creative proposals from the general public.
To participate, applicants must download the application form from the official contest website, complete it, and submit it online.
Korea Expressway Corporation will select a total of eight outstanding entries through a review process and award a total of 10 million won in prize money.
For the Completed Technology category, there will be one Grand Prize (3 million won), one Excellence Award (2 million won), and two Encouragement Awards (1 million won each). For the Idea category, there will be one Grand Prize (1 million won), one Excellence Award (800,000 won), and two Encouragement Awards (600,000 won each).
In particular, for technologies with high potential for on-site application, the corporation plans to actively consider follow-up support to facilitate commercialization.
A representative from Korea Expressway Corporation stated, "We hope that this contest will lead to the discovery of practical, user-oriented lane technologies," and added, "We look forward to the active interest and participation of the public."
