Specialized Consulting by Field and Customized On-site Support

On April 22, the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education held a meeting of the "Education Development Special Zone Support Group" in the main conference room and officially launched a support system for the successful operation of the pilot areas of the Education Development Special Zone.

The "Education Development Special Zone" is a project in which local governments, offices of education, universities, local businesses, and public institutions collaborate to comprehensively promote educational innovation, foster local talent, and improve residential conditions within the broader framework of regional development. Last year, 17 cities and counties in Jeonnam were designated as pilot areas, and the project is now being actively implemented.

The meeting was attended by 28 members of the "Education Development Special Zone Support Group," which consists of supervisors and staff from relevant departments within the provincial office of education. They shared project implementation plans for each pilot area and discussed the direction for operating the support group.

The support group plans to utilize its expertise in various fields to gather diverse opinions from the field and provide practical support through telephone consultations, on-site visits, and video conferences.

The support group will operate until February next year and will provide consulting services across major Jeonnam education policies, including joint early childhood education and care, Neulbom School, Jeonnam-type Future School, 2030 Classroom, Jeonnam-type Joint Curriculum, inter-school articulation, specialized small school model, IB program, autonomous public high schools, vocational high schools, and customized education for glocal talent.

In addition, the group will assist in various aspects such as identifying collaborative projects between local governments and the education office, reviewing improvements to local ordinances, and consulting on budget allocation. Challenges faced in the field will be collected in advance through applications, and specialized staff will be assigned to provide tailored consulting by area of expertise. The results will be shared with all pilot areas.

The provincial office of education plans to continuously monitor the activities of the support group through ongoing communication, discuss improvements to project implementation methods, and consider incorporating them into policy. Through these efforts, it expects educational projects tailored to local conditions to spread effectively.

Kim Jongman, Director of Glocal Education Cooperation, stated, "The Education Development Special Zone project will become a key foundation for glocal Jeonnam education, where the region and education grow together. We will do our utmost to support Jeonnam students so that they can nurture and realize their dreams in Jeonnam."
