[Market Focus] Daehan Scientific Rises as Lee Jaemyung Vows Major Increase in Science and Technology R&D Budget; Largest Domestic Research Equipment Business Up

Daehan Scientific is showing strong performance. This is interpreted as being influenced by Lee Jaemyung, the presidential primary candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, who announced plans to significantly increase the budget for science and technology research and development (R&D).

As of 2:00 p.m. on April 21, Daehan Scientific was trading at 4,780 won, up 6.1% from the previous day.

On this day, Lee posted on his Facebook page under the title "In the era of technological hegemony, I will build a science powerhouse Korea that leads the world with advanced science and technology," stating that he would significantly expand the budget for science and technology R&D.

He emphasized the need to correct the regressed R&D budget and rebuild the collapsed research ecosystem, adding that he would focus on fostering future national strategic technology sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, secondary batteries, bio and vaccines, hydrogen, and future vehicles.

Meanwhile, Daehan Scientific operates the largest comprehensive distribution, manufacturing, and total service business for research laboratory equipment in Korea. The company produces premium equipment exported to about 70 countries worldwide and sources products from more than 270 domestic and international manufacturers, distributing a total of approximately 30,000 types of laboratory equipment globally.
