KOTRA explained that this event was linked to Uzbekistan's largest medical exhibition, the "2025 Tashkent International Medical Expo (TIHE 2025)." The Korea Pavilion showcased a variety of "K-Medical" products and held 152 business consultations with 87 prominent local buyers who were matched in advance. Company A, which produces CT tubes, attracted interest from local diagnostic equipment importers by highlighting the cost-saving benefits of its products. Company B, which manufactures and exports water filters, generated various inquiries with products designed to address water quality management issues.
Through this follow-up consultation meeting, a total of eight contracts and memorandums of understanding (MOUs) were signed on-site. Notably, out of the six companies that participated in last year's economic diplomacy event, two companies each signed one contract and one MOU, respectively.
Pharmaceutical manufacturer Company D, which entered the local market through last year's "Korea-Uzbekistan Business Partnership," signed a distribution cooperation agreement for children's fever reducers with leading Uzbek vendor Company M. A representative from Company D stated, "We will use this follow-up consultation as an opportunity to actively pursue business expansion." Syringe equipment manufacturer Company J strengthened its cooperation with local specialized equipment company Company D and signed an equipment supply MOU during this consultation meeting.

On the 17th, a "K-Medical Market Entry Seminar" was held at the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Cluster for participating companies. The Uzbekistan Center for Pharmaceutical Safety provided a detailed introduction to the local medical and bio system and strategies for Korean companies to enter the market. Azizov Abdulla, Director of the Uzbekistan Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency, said, "We hope Korean companies will gain a deeper understanding of the Uzbek market and that this will lead to practical cooperation."
Lee Jihyung, Executive Vice President for Economic and Trade Cooperation at KOTRA, stated, "The growing demand for medical and bio products in Uzbekistan, along with government policies, provides a foundation for our companies to create diverse cooperation opportunities by leveraging their technologies. We will continue to actively support the expansion of 'K-Medical' cooperation in line with policy trends."
