Hyundai Palisade Reaches 500,000 Sales in U.S. in Six Years

Second-Generation Fully Redesigned Model Unveiled for the First Time in North America

The Hyundai Palisade has reached a cumulative sales milestone of 500,000 units in the United States, six years after its launch in the fiercely competitive mid- to large-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) market.

According to Hyundai Motor Company on April 20, a total of 506,425 units of the large SUV Palisade had been sold in the U.S. market as of last month. This achievement comes six years after the vehicle first went on sale in the United States in 2019.

The Palisade posted steady sales in the U.S. market, with 28,736 units sold in 2019, 82,661 units in 2020, 86,539 units in 2021, and 82,688 units in 2022. At the 2022 New York International Auto Show, Hyundai unveiled the first facelifted model, "The New Palisade," and sales momentum picked up again, with 89,509 units sold in 2023 and 110,055 units last year.

Given that the Palisade's global annual sales last year reached 165,745 units, more than two-thirds were sold in the United States. The vehicle has established itself as one of Hyundai's key volume models in the U.S. market, following the Tucson, Elantra, and Santa Fe.

Hyundai emphasized that this achievement is especially significant because it was accomplished in the U.S. market, where consumer preference for mid- to large-size SUVs is highest. According to automotive market research firm MarkLines, a total of 4,026,755 vehicles were sold in the U.S. auto market in the first quarter of this year, with multi-purpose vehicles, including SUVs, accounting for 3,126,895 units.

The mid- to large-size SUV segment (D·E segment), which includes the Palisade, recorded sales of 1,474,335 units, representing the largest share among all vehicle segments in the U.S. market.

To further strengthen its presence in the U.S. market, Hyundai unveiled the second-generation fully redesigned model, "The All-New Palisade," for the first time in North America at the "2025 New York International Auto Show" held on April 16 (local time). The company plans to begin local sales of the new model, including hybrid and off-road versions, in the second half of this year.
