The '2030 Remote Video Classes,' which enable elementary students from Jeonnam and Gyeongbuk to meet in online classrooms and engage in collaborative learning, is being actively promoted.
The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 18th that it will operate a joint curriculum by pairing 12 elementary school classes from Jeonnam and Gyeongbuk regions on a one-to-one basis until February next year.

This initiative is one of the core projects of the '2030 Classroom,' a future-oriented education project by the Jeonnam Office of Education. Its goal is to realize educational cooperation that transcends physical space by connecting classrooms online.
The '2030 Remote Video Classes' are expected to present a new direction for elementary education by symbolizing educational cooperation between Yeongnam and Honam, and by operating a joint curriculum that reflects the characteristics of each region and class. Students in the matched classes will broaden their learning by sharing local cultures and carrying out joint projects through real-time online lessons. Teachers will design and conduct joint curriculum-based lessons together, thereby spreading a culture of collaborative education.
Previously, on the 17th, the 'Jeonnam-Gyeongbuk Class Remote Video Class Online Meeting Day' was held. During this event, participating teachers gathered to share the purpose and operational direction of the classes and to discuss lesson topics for the matched classes. In addition, teachers Seo Wooyeon from Suncheonbuk Elementary School and Lee Junghwan from Yulim Elementary School, who have conducted joint classes between Jeonnam and Gyeongbuk for the past two years, presented real-life examples and shared their experiences from the field.
The Provincial Office of Education believes that this remote video class initiative will not be limited to simple exchanges, but will also serve as an opportunity to spread student-led learning and a culture of collaboration among teachers. In particular, since the entire process is conducted online, it is attracting attention as a future-oriented classroom practice that includes the use of EdTech, real-time collaboration, and sharing of results.
Kim Byungnam, Director of Early Childhood and Elementary Education, stated, "The remote video classes between Jeonnam and Gyeongbuk classes are a meaningful attempt to grow together as a single educational community beyond regional boundaries. I hope that all teachers and students will experience a culture of mutual respect and empathy through connection and cooperation."
