The signing ceremony was attended by around 10 officials, including Yeom Sanghoon, Director of the Aviation Training Center of the corporation, and Simon Lee, Director of the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy.

The two organizations will expand mutual cooperation in areas related to aviation training, including curriculum development, exchange of instructors and training programs, and joint marketing. In particular, they plan to jointly develop training courses that include essential topics such as airport operation and management, customer experience, and airport safety, and apply them starting in the second half of this year. These courses will target airport and aviation personnel in Southeast Asia and Central Asia, and instructors from both organizations will conduct the training.

The corporation expects that this agreement will significantly enhance its expertise in aviation training and help attract new demand for aviation training in the Asian region in the future. HKIAA is one of the leading aviation training institutions in Northeast Asia. Established in 2016 by the Hong Kong Airport Authority, it currently operates more than 30 training courses, with a cumulative enrollment of approximately 350,000 students.

In addition, the corporation is strengthening the global capabilities of its Aviation Training Center by expanding strategic partnerships with leading aviation training institutions worldwide. In 2023, it collaborated with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in the United States, and Korea Aerospace University to develop the Global Aviation Professional Program (GAPP) for nurturing next-generation aviation talent. Last year, it also developed and is operating the Airport Safety Management Joint Training Program (A7 GSAP) in partnership with the European Aviation Training Organization (JAA TO) and the Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA).

Lee Hakjae, President of the corporation, stated, "Through this agreement, we expect the status of our Aviation Training Center in the Northeast Asian aviation training market to be further solidified. We will continue to strengthen strategic collaborations, such as operating joint training programs with world-class aviation training institutions, to lead the global aviation training sector."

The Aviation Training Center, which opened in 2008, currently provides customized training programs for more than 11,000 aviation professionals from 150 countries around the world.
