Masanhappo District of Changwon Special City Holds "Changes We Created: Illegal Dumping Photo Exhibition"

Held in the District Office's Second Floor Lobby Starting April 18

Masanhappo District of Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam Province, will hold a photo exhibition titled "Changes We Created," showcasing improvements in areas affected by illegal dumping, in the lobby on the second floor of the district office from April 18 to April 30.

This photo exhibition is part of the "Eradication of Illegal Dumping and Promotion of Proper Waste Disposal Culture" project, which has been implemented since January of this year. The exhibition compares before-and-after images of 30 habitual illegal dumping sites in the district, aiming to widely share the achievements of environmental improvements and encourage voluntary participation by residents.


Through this photo exhibition, the district office seeks to raise awareness about the seriousness of illegal dumping and the importance of environmental protection, while also fostering a sense of shared responsibility for creating a clean urban environment.


Gyobang-dong Administrative Welfare Center and Jinjeon-myeon Administrative Welfare Center, which were selected as the top-performing and outstanding departments in this exhibition, installed flower beds in alleyways that had been habitual illegal dumping sites. They also planted trees and flowers in unused roadside spaces where garbage used to accumulate, effectively preventing illegal dumping in advance and creating a pleasant street environment.

In particular, the ongoing collaboration with local residents has drawn attention as a case that goes beyond simple environmental improvement to restore the emotional bonds within the community, laying the foundation for the village to maintain a clean environment on its own.
