The Gyechon Classic Festival is an annual outdoor classical music festival held in Gyechon Village, Pyeongchang, hosted by the Hyundai Motor Group Chung Mongkoo Foundation and organized by the Korea National University of Arts, with the cooperation of Pyeongchang County. Last year, pianists Baik Kunwoo and Cho Seongjin performed at the festival. This year, performances are scheduled by the National Chorus of Korea and soprano Hong Hyeran, among others.

Starting April 18, Bangnim-myeon plans to plant 8,000 poppy flowers along the section from Deulmo Bridge to the Piano Bridge, creating a flower path that harmonizes with the melodies of classical music. At the same time, supplementary planting of four-season roses, pesticide spraying, and pruning work will be carried out to establish a well-maintained green space.

Additionally, 400 azaleas will be newly planted at the entrance of Daemidong-gil to enhance the village entrance landscape, and the existing violas in the Gyechon downtown area will continue to be maintained.

Notably, 40 residents of Gyechon 4-ri are voluntarily participating in this environmental maintenance effort, collecting trash along the downtown streets and riverside and tidying the surrounding areas, demonstrating village-wide cooperation for the festival.

Lee Seojin, head of Bangnim-myeon, stated, "By working together with the village residents to create a beautiful and clean environment, we will do our utmost to provide an even more moving experience for tourists visiting the Gyechon Classic Festival."
