In the past month, a special crackdown on two-wheeled vehicles by the police in Seoul has resulted in a large number of violations such as signal violations being detected.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 18th that from the 17th of last month to the 13th of this month, they conducted a special crackdown on two-wheeled vehicles and caught 4,167 violations.


By type of violation, signal violations were the most frequent with 1,049 cases, followed by walking on sidewalks with 133 cases, and not wearing helmets with 962 cases. The police also caught 615 violations through video enforcement using camcorders.


This special crackdown was carried out by selecting accident-prone spots and habitual violation locations at 31 police stations across Seoul to prevent traffic accidents involving two-wheeled vehicles.


A police official stated, "We plan to conduct special crackdowns on two-wheeled vehicles regularly and carry out joint enforcement with related organizations such as the Seoul city government against traffic crimes including illegal tuning, license plate obstruction, and reckless driving."
