Current and former local councilors from Incheon affiliated with the People Power Party have declared their support for Incheon Mayor Yujeongbok, who is running in the presidential candidate primary.
More than 30 current and former city, county, and district councilors stated in front of Incheon City Hall on the 17th, "South Korea now demands leadership based on capability and unity, not words," and added, "Mayor Yu has made a significant decision for the nation."
They continued, "Having closely observed Mayor Yu, we have experienced his practical leadership and outstanding administrative skills," and added, "His achievement of restoring the city’s finances, which were on the brink of collapse, and propelling Incheon to its current status proves that Mayor Yu is fully qualified to take charge of national affairs."

They also emphasized, "The 'decentralized constitutional amendment' proposed by Mayor Yu is a key solution for the true autonomy and development of local governments," and stated, "This represents genuine national balanced development and aligns precisely with the direction of change that local politicians like us have long earnestly called for."
They went on to say, "We believe that the People Power Party must be a party that can practically change the lives of the people, and that a figure like Yujeongbok is absolutely necessary at the forefront of that change," expressing their support for Mayor Yu’s presidential bid.
The People Power Party Incheon City Party will hold a People Power Party Victory Rally for the early presidential election and a support rally for candidate Yujeongbok at the party headquarters in the afternoon, attended by district committee chairpersons, party members, and citizens.
