Gwangju Veterans Affairs Office Visits National Meritorious Persons for the 65th Anniversary of the April 19 Revolution

The Gwangju Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (Director Kim Seokgi) announced on the 16th that it had visited and delivered consolation gifts to national merit recipients and their families ahead of the 65th anniversary of the April 19 Revolution Memorial Day.

On this day, Director Kim Seokgi visited two households in Buk-gu, Gwangju, who are merit recipients and bereaved families of the April 19 Revolution, and delivered consolation gifts as a token of respect and gratitude for their noble spirit of sacrifice.

The bereaved families said, "It is regrettable that the pure passion and sense of justice of the April 19 Revolution seem to be fading over time," and added, "We hope that the spirit of April 19?freedom, democracy, and justice?will be inherited and further developed by future generations."

Director Kim stated, "We will do our best to carry on and further develop the spirit of the April 19 Revolution, which stood up against the injustice of the dictatorship."
