Busan Urban Corporation to Launch Hanbang Home Medical Service for Rental Housing

Business Agreement Signed with Busan Association of Korean Medicine and Dong-Eui University Korean Medicine Hospital
Free On-Site Korean Medicine Services Provided at Rental Apartments

Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC, President Shin Changho) signed a business agreement for the 'BMC Oriental Home Medical Service' with the Busan Association of Korean Medicine (President Song Sanghwa) and Dong-Eui University Korean Medicine Hospital (Director Yoon Hyunmin) on the 14th.

The 'BMC Oriental Home Medical Service' is a representative residential welfare service of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, in which medical staff directly visit permanent rental apartment sites operated by the corporation to provide free oriental medical treatment. This project was established to provide close medical services to medically vulnerable groups who have difficulty visiting hospitals due to economic or physical problems while living in rental housing.

The three organizations will share roles and jointly carry out the project. BMC will oversee the overall management of the project, including recruiting participants, promotion, and providing medical spaces. The Association of Korean Medicine will support medical supplies and administrative assistance. Dong-Eui University Korean Medicine Hospital will provide professional medical services by dispatching its affiliated doctors of Korean medicine.

This project will be conducted twice a month from April 20 to November at senior community centers in permanent rental apartments in the following order: Gaegeum 2 District (April), Dadae 3 District (May), Hakjang 1 District (June), Dadae 5 District (September), Bansong District (October), and Deokcheon 2 District (November). Any apartment resident can receive treatment by applying on a first-come, first-served basis at the relevant management office.

Shin Changho, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, said, "I want to give residents who have difficulty going to the hospital due to old age, disabilities, or financial hardship an opportunity to take care of their health," and added, "I would also like to express my deep gratitude to the Busan Association of Korean Medicine and Dong-Eui University Korean Medicine Hospital for joining forces in this meaningful project."
