Grand Prize: AI Meeting Assistant Service "Collabee"
Kakao Pay announced on the 16th that it held an in-house artificial intelligence (AI) hackathon event, '2025 Cafe-thon with AWS,' in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) on the 14th and 15th.

'Cafe-thon' is a combination of Kakao Pay and hackathon. It is the first in-house hackathon Kakao Pay has held in three years. A total of 29 teams and about 140 participants took part.
This year, the focus was on discovering innovative ideas to integrate generative AI (Gen AI) into Kakao Pay services through collaboration with AWS.
Participants proposed ideas to improve services using AI technology or to create new financial services.
The main ideas included ▲'AI Financial Terminology Dictionary' that explains difficult financial terms in an easy way ▲'Financial Counseling Chatbot' that recommends personalized financial fortunes and tailored services ▲'Asset Management Service' where AI analyzes transaction history and visually presents spending patterns.
One team each was selected for the grand prize, excellence award, and merit award, with the AI meeting assistant service 'Collabee' winning the grand prize. The service proposed an AI trained on Kakao Pay’s internal terminology that generates optimized scripts and meeting minutes tailored to audio types.
Kakao Pay plans to thoroughly review the feasibility of applying the award-winning ideas to actual services.
