The CPR training, held on the 15th, was part of the K-Sports (baseball, soccer, volleyball) fire safety education initiative promoted by the Gwangju Fire Safety Headquarters. The student volunteer firefighters, together with the active-duty firefighters, conducted CPR demonstrations and provided hands-on CPR training to eight spectators, explaining initial response procedures and methods such as chest compressions in the event of cardiac arrest. In addition, they held a fire safety quiz to increase public interest in firefighting and engaged in interactive communication with the audience.

Kang Woongil, supervising professor of the Student Specialized Volunteer Fire Brigade, said, "I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Gwangju Fire Safety Headquarters for giving us the opportunity to provide CPR training to spectators at the home stadium of the Kia Tigers, one of Korea’s most prestigious baseball teams." He added, "The Volunteer Fire Brigade will continue to do its best, together with the Gwangju Fire Safety Headquarters, to improve Gwangju citizens’ emergency response capabilities and to establish a culture of fire safety."
