Supporting the Establishment of Yua NICE
Expectations for Reducing On-site Workload

The Gwangju Office of Education is developing the "Guidelines for Writing Kindergarten Student Records" to assist kindergarten teachers nationwide in writing and managing student records.

According to the Gwangju Office of Education on the 16th, this material is intended to support the on-site implementation of the student records system based on Yua NICE, which was introduced by the Ministry of Education in 2023. The Gwangju Office of Education is taking the lead, handling everything from establishing detailed implementation plans to developing and distributing the materials and providing training support. The developed materials will be jointly utilized by city and provincial offices of education across the country.

For this purpose, the city office signed a business agreement with city and provincial offices of education nationwide last March and formed a task force consisting of a total of 10 members, including 8 kindergarten teachers and 2 advisory committee members.

On the 15th, a kickoff meeting was held at the Osong & Sejong Conference Room in Cheongju, Chungbuk, with officials from offices of education nationwide and the Ministry of Education, officially launching the development process.

The materials, reflecting feedback from the field, will be completed by August and distributed to kindergartens nationwide starting in September. By November, training sessions will be conducted for a total of 730 participants, including officials from city and provincial offices of education, education support offices, and teachers, covering guidelines for writing and managing student records and methods for documenting child development status.

Superintendent Lee Jungseon said, "We will do our best to develop materials so that student record writing can be carried out more thoroughly," adding, "We hope this will provide practical help in reducing the workload of teachers in the field."
