Gumi City Delivers 550 Million Won in Donations to Support Gyeongbuk Wildfire Victims

Including Personal Donation from Mayor Kim Jangho
City Officials and Local Community United as One

Gumi City in North Gyeongsang Province has delivered 550 million won in donations to help residents affected by wildfires in the region.

On the 14th, Gumi City held the 'North Gyeongsang Wildfire Relief Donation Ceremony' at the city hall auditorium and donated the funds to the North Gyeongsang Community Chest of Korea.


The donated funds will be used for the restoration of areas damaged by wildfires and to support those who have lost their homes.


This donation was raised through various sources: 5 million won personally donated by Mayor Kim Jangho, 28.32 million won collected by 1,194 city hall officials, and 523.3 million won raised by 235 organizations and institutions in the region. The city emphasized that the significance of this fundraising lies in the fact that it was carried out voluntarily.


Gumi City plans to continue raising donations until the end of this month and will also promote additional participation from the local community.


Mayor Kim Jangho said, "I offer my deepest condolences to the residents who have lost their homes," and added, "Gumi City will stand by the affected areas until restoration and a return to normal life are achieved."
