Seo-gu will carry out inspections at 90 selected facilities, chosen through resident and expert surveys as well as a resident inspection application system, by June 13. The inspections will be conducted jointly by private experts and relevant organizations, involving both public and private sectors.
This intensive inspection will focus on safety-vulnerable facilities such as traditional markets, multi-use facilities, and construction sites. Safety inspection equipment, including drones, will be utilized to assess facility maintenance, disaster preparedness, and safety management practices, with the aim of proactively blocking and eliminating potential risks.
In addition, the district will operate the "Safety Inspection Team," a group directly under the district mayor composed of public officials, resident auditors, the safety management advisory panel, and the National Land Safety Management Agency. This team will conduct special safety inspections at 10 locations, including safety-vulnerable facilities and construction sites.
Based on the inspection results, Seo-gu will immediately correct minor issues and, in the event of significant defects or urgent risks, will implement measures such as usage restrictions and evacuation orders. The district will also manage inspection results and follow-up actions for the targeted facilities using its intensive safety inspection system.
Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu, stated, "We will thoroughly identify potential risk factors in facilities and sites where disasters are a concern, and create a safer Seo-gu through meticulous follow-up measures."
