Chungnam Province Designates Planned Site of Forest Resources Research Institute in Cheongyang County as Land Transaction Permission Zone

Chungnam designates Gunnyang-ri in Cheongyang-eup
as a land transaction permit zone
to prevent speculation ahead of the relocation of the Provincial Forest Resources Research Institute

Chungnam Province announced on the 15th that it has designated an area of over 4.55 million square meters (approximately 1.37 million pyeong) in Gunnyang-ri, Cheongyang-eup, Cheongyang-gun as a land transaction permit zone.

This area has been designated as the planned relocation site for the 'Chungnam Provincial Forest Resources Research Institute' to prevent speculation and stabilize project implementation.

The designated zone covers 504 parcels in three towns and villages: Gunnyang-ri and Jeongjwa-ri in Cheongyang-eup, Maesan-ri in Hwaseong-myeon, and Bongam-ri in Namyang-myeon. The designation period is three years, lasting until April 2028, and will take effect from the 19th.

For land transactions exceeding a certain size within the permit zone, approval from the Cheongyang County Governor is required. Violation of this regulation may result in imprisonment of up to two years or a fine of up to 30% of the land price.

An official from the province stated, "We will do our best to block speculative transactions in advance due to development expectations and to protect genuine demand."
