Moon Hanseop, Professor of Physics and Director of the Quantum Science and Technology Center at Pusan National University, said, "It is meaningful that Pusan National University, together with Busan Metropolitan City, will serve as a hub for quantum science and technology research. We will do our best to conduct excellent research and nurture talented professionals in quantum science and technology through the operation of an open research center in the future."
Pusan National University and Busan Metropolitan City expect that this agreement will mark a significant step toward realizing Busan as an advanced science city based on quantum technology, serving as a bridgehead for enhancing regional industrial competitiveness and nurturing future talent.
Busan Metropolitan City plans to invest approximately 6.9 billion KRW over three years from 2025 to 2027 to implement the "Vision and Strategy for Fostering the Quantum Industry in Busan," which consists of three major strategies and 22 detailed projects.
Following the signing ceremony and plaque unveiling, Pusan National University and Busan Metropolitan City held an expert advisory meeting to discuss concrete cooperation measures and regional strategies for fostering the quantum industry.
