Incheon International Airport Corporation announced on the 14th that it has signed a contract to win the "Phase 2 Operation Consulting Project for the Poland New Airport," commissioned by the Poland New Airport Company (CPK). This follows the successful completion of the "Phase 1 Operation Consulting Project for the Poland New Airport," which the corporation won in 2023, leading to this additional assignment.

The Poland New Airport construction project involves building a new capital airport to replace the existing Warsaw Airport, designed to accommodate 100 million passengers annually at its final stage, with an opening target set for 2032. Construction work will be fully launched next year.

The corporation will provide operational consulting during the ongoing design phase. This encompasses all areas of airport operations, including security, airport security zones, communications (IT/ICT), wayfinding signage, terminal flow development, and access transportation design. The project period is from this month until September, and the contract amount is 860,995 euros (approximately 1.36 billion KRW).

Through this project, the corporation expects to solidify its strategic foothold for expanding into the European market and further enhance its overseas business capabilities and expertise.

Lee Hak-jae, president of the corporation, stated, "Based on the performance of previous projects conducted in Poland, we will successfully complete this consulting project as well," adding, "We plan to strengthen the corporation’s overseas project acquisition capabilities and expand business globally, targeting Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and beyond."

Meanwhile, since entering the overseas market by winning the "Iraq Erbil New Airport Operation Support Project" in 2009, the corporation has secured 39 projects across 18 countries to date. The cumulative contract amount totals approximately 405 million USD.
