Yang Holds Press Conference at AI Startup
Presents Five National Visions Including Becoming No.1 in Global AI Industry
Former lawmaker Yang Hyang-ja declared on the 13th, just three days after joining the People Power Party, that she will run in the presidential primary, stating, "I will become a president who revitalizes the economy through science and technology and protects the future of the people through industry."
On the same day, Yang held a press conference at 'Astermof,' an artificial intelligence (AI) startup located in Samseong-dong, Seoul, and said, "When the spring rain of April and the flower breeze of May bring the greenery of June, I will restore the dazzling glory of the People Power Party. I will win."
Yang, who served as the first floor leader of the Reform New Party, resigned from the Reform New Party to challenge for the presidency and submitted her application to join the People Power Party on the 10th.

Yang emphasized her strengths by saying, "Yang Hyang-ja embodies all the strengths of various candidates and possesses the virtues essential to the People Power Party," adding, "These include candidate Han Dong-hoon's youth and freshness, candidate Ahn Cheol-soo's expertise in science and technology, candidate Hong Joon-pyo's drive and connection with ordinary people, candidate Kim Moon-soo's conviction and firmness, and candidate Yoo Seung-min's economic expertise."
She continued, "In addition, I can bring desperately needed votes from Honam, corporations, salaried workers, women, youth, and science and technology professionals to the People Power Party," and asserted, "Along with the conservative fixed votes that any candidate can have, I am the candidate who can win with the most plus alpha votes."
She added, "The primary should be one with surprises, upsets, and drama. It should be a primary that instills confidence in winning the general election and creating a new administration," and said, "If you open your big arms and embrace Yang Hyang-ja, I will take the lead in renewing the values of Korean conservatism."
After graduating from high school in 1985, Yang, who started as a research assistant in the semiconductor memory design department at Samsung Electronics and became the first high school graduate to become an executive director at Samsung Electronics, presented five national visions on the day: becoming the world’s number one AI industry within three years, nurturing five super companies worth 100 trillion won each, creating advanced industrial clusters across the entire country, achieving a national income of 100,000 USD, and cultivating one million talents in science, technology, and mathematics.
