Jeongeup City to Operate 'Atopy Prevention and Management Program'

From the 22nd, Every Fourth Tuesday Until June

The Jeongeup City Public Health Center in North Jeolla Province will operate a prevention and management program for atopic dermatitis starting from the 22nd to help promote proper understanding and prevention of the condition.

According to the Jeongeup City Public Health Center on the 9th, the program aims to help citizens protect their skin health by teaching proper management methods for atopic dermatitis and offering hands-on activities that can be applied in daily life.

The program will run from this month until June, with a total of three sessions held on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

The main program includes education on management methods and lifestyle guidelines for atopic dermatitis, as well as hands-on activities such as making organic lotion and herbal shampoo. The program is expected to achieve high satisfaction among participants.

Any citizen of Jeongeup can participate, and participants are recruited on a first-come, first-served basis each month. For registration, inquiries can be made at the Oriental Medicine Clinic of the City Public Health Center.

An official from the Jeongeup City Public Health Center stated, "Atopic dermatitis is a representative chronic disease that can lower quality of life beyond being a simple skin condition," adding, "In particular, if not properly managed during infancy and early childhood, it can lead to other allergic diseases such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, or conjunctivitis. Therefore, early prevention and systematic management are more important than anything else."
