Gwangju Office of Education Provides Customized Job Training for Students with Severe Disabilities

Recruitment for Special School Graduates Planned for May
Strengthening Employment Support through Career Counseling and On-Site Training

Gwangju Office of Education will provide on-site vocational training and job experience opportunities for students with severe disabilities.


On the 8th, the Gwangju Office of Education announced that it would promote the "2025 Gwangju-Type On-Site Customized Job Project for Students with Disabilities" in cooperation with the Korea Disabled Persons Development Institute. This project is designed to help students with disabilities receive vocational training at general businesses for two to three months and support their transition to actual employment.

On the same day, the Office of Education held a briefing session for teachers of special schools and general high schools at the Special Education Support Center to guide the field training operation plan. The target participants are students expected to graduate from special schools (classes) and current students in special school vocational programs. Recruitment will be conducted through a public notice in May. Selected students will be provided with programs such as career counseling, vocational assessment, vocational rehabilitation services, and the assignment of training support personnel.


Superintendent Lee Jungseon said, "We will create an educational foundation that supports students' independence in cooperation with the local community."
