AI and DX Integrated into Digital Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) System
SK C&C announced on the 8th that it has established a 'Manufacturing Industry Specialized AI DX-based SHE Service' system for safety, health, and environment (SHE) management tailored to large industrial sites and manufacturing plants.
This service integrates artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies to advance existing SHE systems. Through this, it predicts accident risks and supports preventive measures.
On the 8th, SK C&C announced that it has established a 'Manufacturing Industry Specialized AI DX-based SHE Service' system for safety, health, and environment (SHE) management specialized in large industrial sites and manufacturing plants.
Specifically, it is designed to collect and analyze various data generated on-site in real time through AI and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, enabling immediate action in case of accidents or disasters. Large factories and industrial complexes have wide workspaces and complex processes with diverse risk factors; considering such environments, technologies like high-resolution video analysis, vibration detection, and gas sensor networks have been utilized.
SK C&C plans to introduce this service to major domestic manufacturing plants to establish a system that can monitor process equipment and data in real time.
For example, in manufacturing plants handling various chemical substances, accidents can lead to large fires or harmful gas leaks. The AI DX-based SHE service monitors pressure and temperature within the process in real time and issues immediate alerts when abnormal signs are detected. Additionally, it analyzes real-time worker location information to prevent access to high-risk areas and uses acoustic sensors to detect early signs of pipe cracks or equipment malfunctions.
It is also expected to enhance worker safety. For instance, it measures the concentration of harmful substances in the air within production lines in real time and initiates ventilation and air purification measures if levels exceed standards.
It can also assist in complying with environmental regulations. By analyzing air and water quality data, it supports adherence to environmental regulations and minimizes pollution. Waste data emitted from manufacturing sites, such as wastewater, fine dust, and harmful gases, are monitored in real time to detect abnormal emissions, and if levels exceed standards, workers are notified to enable prompt response.
SK C&C plans to further advance the manufacturing industry specialized AI DX SHE service to enhance overall safety in the manufacturing industry. Lee Jae-jin, Head of Manufacturing Business Division 2 at SK C&C, stated, "The latest AI DX-based SHE service will play a crucial role in raising safety levels at manufacturing sites," adding, "We will continue to strive to support more effective SHE management while protecting the safety of members across various manufacturing industry sites."
