Jinju City Appoints Policy Advisory Professors and Holds Regular Meeting

Appointment of 30 Experts in 7 Fields

Jinju City in Gyeongnam held an appointment ceremony and regular meeting for the Jinju City Policy Advisory Professors at the cultural lecture room on the 3rd floor of City Hall.


The meeting, which took place on the 7th with Mayor Jo Kyu-il and about 30 members of the Policy Advisory Professors in attendance, proceeded in the order of presenting appointment certificates, explaining the operation direction of the professors' group, and discussing measures for municipal development.

The Jinju City Policy Advisory Professors group consists of 30 members in seven fields: general administration, aerospace economy, culture and tourism, education, environment, health and welfare, urban safety, and agriculture. On this day, 30 people were appointed as policy advisory professors and, during their two-year term, they will play a role in developing and advising on policies across all areas of city administration.


The Policy Advisory Professors will hold occasional meetings with the relevant city departments by field, select, analyze, and research policy study topics, and announce their research results in the second half of the year. The outcomes of these policy research activities will be reflected in the city's policies.


Since its launch in 2011, the Policy Advisory Professors group has discovered a variety of policy tasks across seven fields of city administration up to 2024, serving as a foundation for Jinju's development.


At the regular meeting, the advisory professors agreed to work with Jinju City to develop necessary policies and enhance the policy advisory function to build a prosperous Jinju where citizens are happy and live well together.


Mayor Jo Kyu-il said, "Our city is pursuing various projects this year to realize 'A Prosperous Jinju, Happy Citizens,'" and added, "I ask for your active advice and suggestions so that we can leap forward as a prosperous hub city."
