"The Upcoming Presidential Election: A Crucial Turning Point"

The People Power Party presented seven major visions to be included in its early presidential election pledges on the 7th.


On the same day, Kim Sang-hoon, chairman of the Policy Committee, introduced the seven visions at an emergency committee meeting held at the National Assembly, saying, "The upcoming presidential election will be an important turning point that determines whether the Republic of Korea moves toward the future or remains stagnant."

▲ A future-oriented innovative nation for economic re-leap, including fostering advanced industries ▲ A country good for working and business through various deregulations such as exceptions to the 52-hour workweek system and labor-management coexistence ▲ A warm welfare state where socially vulnerable groups and persons with disabilities are strongly protected ▲ A healthy nation addressing low birthrate, aging population, and climate crisis issues ▲ A balanced development nation where the metropolitan area and local regions grow together ▲ A sustainable country where youth can dream of the future ▲ A safe country for citizens from social disasters and crimes.


Chairman Kim said, "We will develop the existing livelihood agenda into concrete pledges with the seven visions as the core direction," adding, "At the same time, we will discover innovative and responsible pledges that respond to new era challenges."


Along with this, Chairman Kim urged the formulation of a supplementary budget for the recovery from the wildfire damage in Gyeongbuk. The People Power Party announced support measures on the 3rd, including the prompt installation of about 2,700 temporary houses, advance payments for livelihood stabilization, and free rental of agricultural machinery, requesting the formulation of a supplementary budget worth about 3 trillion won for wildfire damage recovery.


Chairman Kim said, "Once the government’s plan is formulated, the ruling party, opposition, and government should immediately meet to agree on the supplementary budget, moving quickly into supplementary budget mode," and added, "We request the Democratic Party to engage in bipartisan discussions on the prompt supplementary budget."
