Landscape Lighting Operates from Sunset to Midnight
Seocho-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jeon Seong-su) announced on the 7th that it will operate nighttime cherry blossom lighting at Yeoui Stream (Yeoui 1 Bridge to Yeoui Bridge) and Dogumeori Park, popular walking paths loved by residents.
Yeoui Stream and Dogumeori Park, famous for their cherry blossom paths, have become spaces of vitality and rest for many residents. They are also ideal spots for outings where people can enjoy spring flowers while taking a walk within the heart of Seoul without having to go far.
The district has installed landscape lighting that harmonizes with the cherry blossom trees to provide residents with a pleasant and safe walking path. In some sections where securing illumination was difficult due to trees, the district replaced old security lights and improved and added lighting facilities.
Previously, in 2023, the district improved 20 old lighting fixtures in Dogumeori Park through the resident participation budget. Additionally, last year, 48 new landscape lights were installed along the Yeoui Stream walking path, and this year, 14 more landscape lights were added to brightly illuminate the cherry blossom trees.
The landscape lighting operates from sunset until midnight, and to save energy, the lighting level is set to 50% after the cherry blossoms fall. Later, in autumn when the foliage colors and crowds increase, the lighting level will be set back to 100% and turned on, allowing for flexible operation.
District Mayor Jeon Seong-su said, “We will do our best to create a safe walking environment so that residents can safely enjoy nighttime walks.”
