Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon Chairs Weekend Safety Measures Meeting... "Do Not Let Your Guard Down"

On the morning of the 5th at 10 a.m., Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon held a 'Weekend Downtown Rally Safety Measures Meeting' at the Seoul City Hall office to review response plans including traffic and crowd management. This measure aims to ensure the safety of citizens as rallies are expected in various parts of downtown Seoul following the Constitutional Court's impeachment ruling on former President Yoon Seok-yeol.

According to Seoul City, the meeting was attended by heads of departments and bureaus including the 1st and 2nd Deputy Mayors for Administration, the Deputy Mayor for Political Affairs, the Disaster and Safety Office, the Transportation Office, the Autonomous Police Committee, the Citizen Health Bureau, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters, and Seoul Metro.


Mayor Oh said, "Thanks to thorough preparation in advance, cooperation with related agencies such as the police and fire departments, and the mature civic consciousness, yesterday's impeachment-related rally concluded peacefully." However, he urged, "Please maintain the same level of vigilance and respond accordingly so that the downtown rallies scheduled over the weekend can end safely." He added, "In case of an emergency, I hope departments and related agencies will ensure full cooperation so that real-time communication and immediate response can be carried out."


Following the impeachment decision, rallies related to the impeachment by religious and civic groups are expected at various locations such as Gwanghwamun Square and the area around Daehanmun this weekend. Seoul City is operating the 'Weekend Downtown Rally Safety Measures' continuously from the previous day.
