[Yoon Seok-yeol Impeachment] Jeong Yu-ra Encourages Conservative Base: "I'll Take the Lead, Let's Stay Strong"

Fierce Criticism of People Power Party
"I'd Rather Vote for the Democratic Party Than for You"

Jung Yura, the daughter of Choi Soon-sil (who changed her name to Choi Seo-won), has taken steps to console the conservative base following the acceptance of the impeachment trial request against President Yoon Suk-yeol.

On the 4th, Jung wrote on Facebook, "Do not react to the left wing's provocation," adding, "We just need to watch and follow President Yoon as we have been doing, or create our own path." She stated, "The world has actually been crazy since 10 years ago. It's just that we couldn't change it in a few months."

She rhetorically asked, "Wouldn't I want to give up?" but comforted her followers by saying, "If we keep changing things like this, every day will be different. Someday, we will be able to laugh and talk about how hard this was."

She then expressed confidence, saying, "I will keep my loyalty to the end, if only to avoid being accused of supporting President Yoon and his wife because of power," defining that as "conservatism." She also encouraged, "I know that conservatives are not weak and that we can do it. I will always be the first to enter the front line and the last to leave, so let's stay strong."

Recalling the impeachment ruling against former President Park Geun-hye, she said, "Even the elders did not give up, crying and sitting down 10 years ago." She emphasized, "Conservatives created a government even in more difficult situations. It is unreasonable to be frustrated in a much better situation than back then."

Although she attempted to rally conservative supporters, just three hours earlier she had fiercely criticized the People Power Party. She wrote, "They are watching with their hands off twice. I am withdrawing all support for the party," and added, "This kind of party will end up the same even if it produces another president. It should disappear. Party fees are a waste." She claimed that the People Power Party sacrificed the president to survive. She also said, "Do you think I will vote for you just because you claim to be conservative? This time, there is no chance. I would rather vote for the Democratic Party than you."

Earlier, immediately after the Constitutional Court's ruling to dismiss former President Yoon, Jung addressed supporters, saying, "Pull yourselves together, why is your mentality breaking? I am rather cooling down my head," and asked, "Are you going to endure all the mockery and give up? Did you go through that hardship (anti-impeachment rallies) on cold days for that?" Jung has voiced opposition to the impeachment of former President Yoon Suk-yeol. On the 22nd, she also spoke as a speaker at the Save Korea Gangwon National Emergency Prayer Meeting against Yoon's impeachment held in front of Gangwon Provincial Office in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province.
