Jangsu-gun to Host 'Jangsu Trail Race' from 4th to 6th

2,500 Participants to Compete
Six Courses to Be Held

Jangsu County in Jeonbuk announced on the 3rd that the '5th Jangsu Trail Race' will be held at Jangsu Sports Complex from the 4th to the 6th.


Hosted by Jangsu County and organized by Rock&Run Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim Youngrok), the '5th Jangsu Trail Race' will feature a total of six courses: 70K, 38K-P (Palgongsan), 38K-J (Jangansan), 20K, 5K, and 4K-VT. The event will kick off with the 4K-VT course on the 4th, followed by the main races starting on the 5th.

In particular, the event is expected to set a new record with approximately 2,500 participants, including both domestic and international athletes.


Trail running is a sport that takes place on natural surfaces such as grass, dirt, and forest paths, rather than artificial tracks or asphalt roads. The 'Jangsu Trail Race' is held against the backdrop of the county's major tourist attractions, including Jangansan, Palgongsan, the Dongchon-ri Ancient Tombs, and the Equestrian Road, allowing participants to fully experience the unique natural scenery of Jangsu, which has made the event increasingly popular.


At the main event venue, there will be booths selling the county's high-quality specialty agricultural products, a variety of food and experience booths, as well as booths from various sponsoring brands, providing plenty of entertainment for participants and visitors alike.


Kim Youngrok, CEO of Rock&Run Co., Ltd., said, "I hope that the steadily growing 'Jangsu Trail Race' will help Jangsu County establish itself as a mecca for mountain leisure. We will do our best to make this the best trail race in the country."


Choi Hunsik, the county governor, said, "The 'Jangsu Trail Race,' which started on a small scale in 2022, has been developing year after year, and Jangsu is regaining its vitality as a result. We plan to further expand the infrastructure so that athletes and visitors can fully experience the unique charm of Jangsu through this event."


Meanwhile, the county has announced plans to thoroughly prevent wildfires and ensure the safety of the event by remaining vigilant, monitoring wildfire personnel, and maintaining its own staff, as nearby areas have recently suffered damage from wildfires.
