New "Saessak Kium Scholarship" Established for Elementary Students
Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 2nd that the Boseong-gun Scholarship Foundation (Chairman: Moon Chan-oh) will be publicly recruiting scholarship students for the first half of 2025 until the 15th, aiming to discover outstanding local talents and foster future leaders.
This semester's scholarship selection covers 12 categories, including 95 for academic excellence, 68 for future talents, 16 for Hope Narae, 63 for Home Nest, and 35 for Hanultari, with a total of 550 students to receive 427.7 million KRW in scholarships.

Eligible applicants are elementary, middle, high school, and university students who, as of the announcement date, have themselves or their legal guardians registered and actually residing in Boseong-gun for at least one year. University students may apply even if their own address is outside the region.
Notably, this year introduces the new "Saessak Kium Scholarship" for elementary students, aiming to provide 100 local elementary students with improved learning environments and diverse activity opportunities.
To apply, students must submit the required documents to their respective schools or the administrative welfare center (town office) of their residential area. After the first screening, the final recipients will be determined by the foundation's board of directors, and scholarships will be awarded in June.
In addition to scholarship support, the Boseong-gun Scholarship Foundation actively fosters students' creativity and talent development through specialized aptitude education programs. This year, the "Talent Kium" program will provide 50 million KRW to five schools, and the "Dream Kium" program will grant 20 million KRW to two schools.
A representative of the Boseong-gun Scholarship Foundation stated, "We hope many students will actively apply so that we can provide practical support to talents growing in various fields of our region," adding, "We will continue to gradually expand the scale of scholarship selection to offer more students the opportunity to realize their dreams."
Meanwhile, the Boseong-gun Scholarship Foundation plans to hold the 5th Scholarship Essay Contest to promote the value of the scholarship program and encourage public participation. They also plan to publish the "Scholarship Newsletter" to serve as a communication channel between donors and recipients, thereby strengthening trust and engagement in scholarship policies.
