The Scholarship Foundation of Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 1st that it has awarded the 'Regional Specialized Talent Scholarship' for the first time to encourage local university enrollment and promote employment in local industries.

The Regional Specialized Talent Scholarship is a scholarship program aimed at nurturing local talent in connection with industries prioritized by the city, and linking education, employment, and settlement by connecting graduates to employment in local industries, thereby creating a talent circulation ecosystem.
The students who received the scholarship this time are university students residing in Pyeongtaek City. The 20 recipients are enrolled at Pyeongtaek University, Hankyong National University Pyeongtaek Campus, or Kookje University, majoring in fields that the city is fostering as future growth industries such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), mobility, and hydrogen.
Jang Jang-seon, Mayor of Pyeongtaek City, said, "These scholarship students are precious talents nurtured with the hearts of all citizens," adding, "I hope they will someday warmly respond to the citizens' heartfelt support."
