Since Around May 1972, Eats a Big Mac Every Day
Still in Good Health in His 70s
At His Peak, Consumed Up to 9 a Day
The health checkup results of a man who ate about 35,000 hamburgers over nearly 50 years have been revealed, drawing attention. On the 27th (local time), British media such as the Daily Mail reported that 71-year-old Donald Gorski has eaten a Big Mac every day for 54 years since 1972, setting a record as the person who has eaten a total of 35,000 Big Macs as of this month.
Previously, Gorski was already listed in the Guinness World Records. On May 22, 2022, he set a Guinness record for eating an average of 2 Big Macs per day for 50 years. Gorski once ate 9 Big Macs a day, but now he only eats about 2 per day. Guinness World Records
Gorski had already been listed in the Guinness World Records. On May 22, 2022, he set a Guinness record for eating an average of two Big Macs per day for 50 years. At one point, Gorski ate as many as nine Big Macs a day, but now he eats about two per day. This remarkable record began on May 17, 1972. Since eating his first Big Mac, he never got tired of eating nine Big Macs a day. He ate a Big Mac every day and has kept receipts and fast food containers to prove his record.
He showed such passion that he even stored extra Big Macs in the freezer in case he could not visit the store due to weather conditions like blizzards or traffic issues. To save on gas, he visits the store twice a week instead of daily and buys hamburgers in bulk. Because of this, the store manager and employees affectionately call him the 'Mac Family.' So, did he eat only Big Macs while setting this record? In response to this question, he emphasized, "I have tried two other burgers, the Burger King Whopper and the 1984 Topper Double Burger, but they could not surpass the Big Mac." Despite eating fast food for a long time, his health is good. In an interview with the Daily Mail, his wife Mary explained, "My husband regularly gets checkups, and his blood sugar and cholesterol levels are normal," adding, "He walks about 10 km every day. When he orders burgers, he does not eat French fries."
To those who might want to challenge his record in the future, he advised, "Do not try." Gorski added, "I was able to eat Big Macs because I have a high metabolism and a body type that does not gain much weight. Maybe I am the only one who could eat Big Macs every day without any side effects, and since I will continue to eat Big Macs daily, no one else will dare to break my record."
