Commemorating the Redesignation of "Harim-ro,"
Iksan City's First Honorary Road
Iksan City in North Jeolla Province will hold the "Cheer Up Iksan! Ten Thousand Won Happiness" event from July 1 to September 30.
According to the city on the 24th, this event is being held to commemorate the redesignation of Gyewhalim as "Harim-ro," Iksan's first honorary road. During the event, all menu items, including grilled chicken, traditional whole chicken, roast chicken, chicken kalguksu, and chicken yukgaejang, will be offered at up to 40% off.
Additionally, tourists from Bogeul House and City Tour, as well as users of Iksan Station, can receive a 20% discount, and those who present a Dairoum Card can get an additional 10% off, allowing them to enjoy meals for less than 10,000 won.
Gyewhalim is a grilled chicken specialty restaurant that opened in September 2023 on the first floor of the Iksan Food Education and Culture Center. It serves as a key location for the "Chicken Road" project, jointly promoted by Iksan City and local company Harim Co., Ltd., to revitalize the old downtown area of Jungang-dong.
NBicon Co., Ltd., an affiliate of Harim Co., Ltd., operates Gyewhalim under the slogan "We don't grill it if it's not fresh." In addition to running Gyewhalim, NBicon contributes to local economic revitalization and the development of the food industry. The company actively participates in entrepreneurship training for Chicken Road business owners in Jungang-dong, small business consulting, community outreach for vulnerable groups, and the promotion of the culinary industry in cooperation with Iksan City.
Han Wontak, CEO of NBicon, said, "We organized this event in hopes that citizens can enjoy healthy and delicious food without burden even in difficult economic times," adding, "We will do our best to make Iksan a destination for many citizens and tourists by offering quality food at reasonable prices."
Meanwhile, "Harim-ro" was designated as Iksan City's first honorary road on May 4, 2020. It stretches for about 1.9 km from in front of Harim Holdings on Jungang-ro to the Iksan Station intersection, and will remain an honorary road until May 2030 following this redesignation.
