Juksan High School Holds Ceremony for Gyeonggi Province's First Public "World School" Certification
Provincial Office of Education Strives to Enhance School Educational Capabilities by Expanding IB Schools
Superintendent Lim Taehee Attends Certification Ceremony, Engages with and Congratulates Juksan High School Community
Gyeonggi Provincial Superintendent of Education Lim Tae-hee visited Juksan High School (Principal Yu Gwang-jong) on the 14th to congratulate the school, which was certified as the first public 'Diploma Programme (DP) World School' in Gyeonggi Province, and to encourage the efforts of the school members.

Located in Anseong City, Juksan High School started as an International Baccalaureate (IB) candidate school in June 2023 and became a candidate school in October of the same year. After about 14 months of preparation, it received the 'World School' certification last January.
As of March 2025, the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education operates ▲7 World Schools (4 elementary schools, 1 middle school, 2 high schools) including Juksan High School ▲44 candidate schools ▲123 interested schools.
This year, the office plans to complete certification for 12 candidate schools, select an additional 40 candidate schools and 100 interested schools, and continuously strive to deepen the professionalism of classes and assessments and enhance school educational capabilities.
The certification proclamation ceremony was attended by Superintendent Lim Tae-hee, key officials from the Provincial Office of Education, school staff, and many parents to celebrate Juksan High School's World School certification together.
The event proceeded with a congratulatory performance, followed by ▲a congratulatory speech by Superintendent Lim Tae-hee ▲a dialogue between Superintendent Lim and the Juksan High School educational community under the theme of "Challenging Future" ▲the unveiling ceremony of the World School certification ▲a tour of the school environment and commemorative photo session.
Superintendent Lim Tae-hee said, "Obtaining the IB World School qualification at Juksan High School in just one and a half years is the result of the great efforts of the school teachers and the active engagement of students with the new teaching methods," adding, "The World School certification of Juksan High School marks the beginning of change in Gyeonggi education and is a memorable event."
He continued, "IB education is an education that cultivates thinking skills by viewing problems from new perspectives, finding solutions through collaboration, and deeply understanding various issues," and added, "I expect IB education to be an education that provides greater energy and is more necessary for you who will live in a future no one has experienced before."
Superintendent Lim expressed his sincere gratitude for the efforts of those who were certified as the first public high school in Gyeonggi Province as a 'Diploma Programme (DP) World School' and promised to provide active support.
Meanwhile, Juksan Middle School, which operates integrally with Juksan High School, is preparing to undergo the 'World School' certification review in April. If Juksan Middle School receives certification in the future, Juksan Middle and High School will become the nation's first integrated school operating both the middle school program (MYP) and the high school program (DP) together.
