From Security Threat Intelligence Analysis to Enterprise Data Management
AI Big Data Platform Supporting Organizational Decision-Making
In February 2020, a domestic artificial intelligence (AI) startup less than two years old signed a security data analysis solution supply contract with INTERPOL. INTERPOL took note of the company’s specialization in handling unstructured big data from various ‘hidden channels’ such as the dark web and Telegram since its inception, establishing its presence in the global security market with specialized AI technology. This is the story of S2W, founded by CEO Seosangdeok in 2018. Being chosen by INTERPOL in the global public market has since become a defining attribute of S2W. Building on this, S2W has also secured a foothold in the private sector and is preparing to go public (IPO) this year to enter a broader market.
On the 16th, CEO Seo said, "After undergoing rigorous and strict technical verification and forming a partnership with INTERPOL, potential customers in both domestic and overseas markets began to show interest and confidence in our technology," adding, "In June last year, we were invited to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime conference to introduce our big data analysis AI technology." S2W’s solution delves into the dark web, where information related to various investigations and security matters circulates but is difficult to grasp. This is achieved through proprietary AI language models such as ‘DarkBERT,’ specialized for dark web domains. Based on this, S2W has maintained its cooperative relationship with INTERPOL and has consecutively attracted major domestic investigative and defense agencies, as well as government agencies in Singapore and Indonesia, the Taiwan Stock Exchange, and the Taiwan Railway Administration, among other domestic and international public institutions.
The solutions provided by S2W include the industrial generative AI platform ‘SAIP,’ the cyber security big data platform for government agencies ‘Javis,’ and the intelligence platform for enterprises ‘Quasar.’ At the core lies a technological advantage in ‘multi-domain cross-analysis.’ CEO Seo explained, "To gain deeper data insights, it is necessary to collect and filter information from different domains and understand the relationships between key pieces of information," adding, "By utilizing multi-domain cross-analysis technology, it is possible to perform more multifaceted and complex AI-based analytical tasks."
S2W’s multi-domain cross-analysis technology, proven useful in domestic and international public sectors, is also demonstrating high value in the private market. Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Kia Motors, Naver, and Shinhan Financial Group are already enhancing their business safety and efficiency through S2W’s AI solutions. In particular, SAIP, launched last year, has been supplied as the foundational platform for Hyundai Steel’s ‘In-house Knowledge Information Platform’ and Lotte Members’ ‘Trend Analysis AI Service.’ CEO Seo stated, "SAIP not only has information protection features that enhance data security but also offers high scalability, as once an AI model specialized for a specific domain is created, it can be quickly and efficiently introduced to other companies in the same industry."
CEO Seo’s long experience underpins the strategy of entering the private market based on proven technology in the security field. Starting 25 years ago as a developer at TmaxSoft, he built competitiveness through roles such as consultant at Boston Consulting Group and head of the Innovation Lab at Lotte Future Strategy Research Institute. Seo said, "Having secured numerous domestic and international public references, including in the defense and security sectors that require the highest levels of expertise and reliability, is the most effective selling point to appeal to private market customers," adding, "Using the IPO planned for the second half of this year as momentum, we will pursue S2W’s market expansion strategy from the public to the private sector in a broader market."
